Russia, 1900. Traditional Russian kiddush goblet form. Engraved in Hebrew: “A GIFT/TOKEN OF LOVE FROM THE ADMOR (OUR LORD, OUR TEACHER AND OUR RABBI) THE RIGHTEOUS RABBI ISRAEL F(ried)M(an) SHLITA, TO THE CHEVRA, ADMOR (OUR LORD, OUR TEACHER AND OUR RABBI) THE RIGHTEOUS RABBI DOVID MOSHE F(ried)M(an) FROM CHERTKOV OF BLESSED MEMORY”. Apparently this cup belonged to Rabbi Dovid Moshe Friedman (1828 – 1903) who was the first Rebbe of Chertkov and the son of Rabbi Yisroel Friedman, the Ruzhiner Rebbe and it was gifted by his son Rabbi Yisroel Friedman to the “Chevra” in New York in 1909.
