174. A SILVER SPICE CONTAINER. Poland, c. 1850. On a stylized domed base with leafed stem that attaches to the pear shaped upper portion. Topped with a rooster. Upper portion is engraved with a stag, a bird, a lion and organic design. Engraved with the former owner’s name Chaim ben Ita. Sold Sotheby’s NY, December 9, 1999. Lot 5. 8.5” tall.
