171. A RARE AND IMPORTANT ART NOUVEAU SILVER GOBLET DEDICATED TO HEINRICH BIRKENSTEIN FROM THE JEWISH COMMUNITY OF BURGEL, GERMANY BY DEPOSE SILVERSMITHS. Germany, early 20th century. On a round base. The body is engraved with swirling Art Nouveau designs and applied blue stones. Engraved on one side in Hebrew: ‘CHAIM BEN ELIYAHU HA 1924” and in German with a dedication relating to the Synagogue of Burgel. Heinrich Birkenstein was present and quoted at the First Zionist Congress.7.2” tall.
