168. A LARGE SILVER TORAH SHIELD. Russia or New York, c. 1890. The border hand chased with flowing leaf design. The main section is fitted with a Torah ark, two stylized columns, a portion plaque container and two rampant lions who each flank a crown. Marked in Cyrillic and 1890. Engraved with Hebrew dedication: “FLEISHER, FOR THE SOUL OF HIS FATHER ABRAHAM SON OF EFRAIM WHO PASSED ON THE 10TH OF KISLEV 1937. 11.8” long.
