166. A RARE AND IMPORTANT FILIGREE TORAH SHIELD. Ukraine or Poland, c. 1820. The back plate is tablet shaped. Decorated with hand spun filigree in the manner of the “Baal Shem Tov” Hanukkah lamps, applied medallions and colored glass. Fitted with a crown with a perched bird. Formerly in the Halpern family collection. 10.5” tall.
