SILVER WEDDING BEAKERS AND CANDLSTICKS BY MOSHE ZABARI. New York, c.1970. Hand crafted. Used as beakers or reversed and candlesticks. Decorated with engraved striations. Inscribed with ANI LEDODI VEDODI LI (i am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine, Song of Songs (Shir HaShirim) . 5” tall. Marked Sterling. Zabari and Tobe Pascher Workshop .4.7” tall.Born in Israel in 1935, Zabari studied under Ludwig Wolpert and David Gumbel at the Bezalel Academy. For almost 30 years he was the artist in residence at and later the director of the Tobe Pascher Workshop in the Jewish Museum of New York. In 1986, he was honored with a 25 years retrospective assembled by Nancy Berman.
