AN EXTREMELY RARE AND IMPORTANT STERLING SILVER SPICE TOWER BY MOSHE ZABARI. New York, c. 1970. Abstract sunflower. Composed of a swirling high luster stem that attaches to a hand wrought a pierced sunflower spice section. Sunflower has a twisted stem as if

the flower is following the sun. Marked and signed. Born in Israel in 1935, Zabari studied under Ludwig Wolpert and David Gumbel at the Bezalel Academy. For almost 30 years he was the artist in residence at and later the director of the Tobe Pascher Workshop in the Jewish Museum of New York. In 1986, he was honored with a 25 years retrospective assembled by Nancy Berman. According to Zabari, he only crafted three of these spice towers. 10” tall.
