4. A MASSIVE SILVER ROOSTER. Dutch, 19th century. Realistically chased with a rooster/cockerel shaped body. The head removes and reveals a spice chamber. Each foot now lacks one claw. Marked with Dutch hallmarks on the comb and spice cover. Provenance: Christie&’s New York, June 26, 1984, lot 143. 9″ tall.
