A MONUMENTAL SILVER PRESENTATION SYNAGOGUE GOBLET.
Vienna, c. 1900. On a round base, in traditional goblet form. Inscribed in Hebrew and Hungarian with a dedication to Rabbi Josef Lebovits of Magocs, Hungary in 1933. Rabbi Josef Lebovits was born in 1862 to Itzhak and Judith Lebovits.He died in 1937. An early tombstone in the Magocs Jewish cemetery is dated to 1750. The town synagogue was first built in 1846. 8.5” tall. Estimate $2,000 – 4,000
