New York, c. 1956. On four legs. Decorated with several applied panels of historical Jewish figures such as Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Moses, Aaron, and David, all which are part of the Ushpizin. There are also handmade scenes including a religious Jewish man holding a Sefer Torah, a religious Jewish man holding a lulav and etrog, a young religious boy with a yarmulke and payos holding a lula and etrog, and a girl holding a Simchat Torah flag. The lid has three dimensional lattice work scenes depicting a family in a sukkah and birds. Further decorated with the Zodiac. Inscribed in Hebrew IN SUKKOT YOU SHALL DWELL FOR SEVEN DAYS, and WE BESEECH THEE O LORD MAKE US NOW TO PROSPER, SAVE, WE BESEECH THEE O LORD. Signed. 6.5” wide.
