55. A JUDAIC NEEDLEPOINT. Probably Israel, 20th century. Hand woven with decorations including: The Western Wall and the Temple Site ( Dome Of The Rock). an inscription blessing the owner, his family and possessions, which was taken from the Grace after meals( as recited by Asian and African Jews). Around the inner circle are 13 domed buildings, labeled as tombs of the righteous and other places. In the corners are domed buildings with towers. The lower right hand corner shows Rachel’s Tomb as it appeared at the beginning of the nineteenth century. 15” x 16”.
