118. AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE PARCEL GILT HANUKKAH LAMP BY M. NOWAKOWSKI. Warsaw, 1825 – 1856. The backplate is embossed with two lions flanking a wreath-enclosed reflective plate. Decorated with floral designs, Solomonic pillars, birds, pine cones and scrolling designs. The base has eight lidded oil urns. On four decorated feet. Signed. 13.4” tall. Sold Sotheby’s, Tel Aviv, December 1999, lot 51 and again Sotheby’s, New York, December 2007 lot 76. Formerly in the collection of Richard Janger, Chicago, Illinois.
