A Rare and Important Art Nouveau Silver Goblet
A rare and important art nouveau silver goblet dedicated to Heinrich Birkenstein from the Jewish community of Burgel, Germany by Depose Silversmiths. Germany, early 20th century. On round base. The body is engraved with swirling art Nouveau designs and applied blue stones. Engraved on one side in Hebrew: ‘CHAIM BEN ELIYAHU HALEVY 1924” and in German with a dedication relating to the Synagogue of Burgel. Heinrich Birkenstein was present and quoted at the First Zionist Congress. 7.2” tall.
