A RARE AND IMPORTANT SILVER SUCCOTH GOBLET BY GEORG NICHOLAS BIERFREUND. Nuremberg, 1787 – 1790. On stylized round base. Upper bowl portion engraved in Hebrew with biblical commandment to sit in a sukkah for seven days, a star of David and man in garb with a lulav and etrog. Marked. A similar goblet was featured in Jay Weinstein’s “A COLLECTOR’S GUIDE TO JUDAICA, London, 1985, page 52. That sold in Sotheby’s June 23, 1983 lot 382A and then again in October 5, 1993, lot 258. 4.25” tall.
