A RARE AND IMPORTANT BRIS KNIFE. Germany, c. 1800. The handle with gilt bands decorated in geometric and foliate design. Engraved in Hebrew indicating that it belonged to Rabbi Meir, son of Rabbi Moses in 1806. 6.4″ long. Sold Sotheby’s, New York, December 2007, lot 73A. Formerly in the collection of Richard Janger.
