An extremely rare ketubah. Corfu, 1820. The border decorated with scrolling vines, the body further decorated with urns and flowers. Central cartouche decorated with jacob’s dream. The greek island of corfu has had a growing jewish presence since 1492; however the year 1160 seemed to be when the earliest jewish life was evidenced.
