085. A Large Brass Hanukkah Lamp
A LARGE BRASS HANUKKAH LAMP. Prague, c. 1850. One side support is Moshe and one is Aaron. Backplate decorated with flowing design, reflective panel and Jewish star encasing a Swedish hat. According to Narkiss, this symbol was granted to them in 1627 by the Austrian emperor Ferdinand II in appreciation of the Jewish help during the fight against Swedish aggression. 10” wide.
