A RARE AND UNUSUAL SILVER TORAH SHIELD. Galician, 18th century. Tablet form. The outer border is crimped with an inner snakeskin style embossed border. Engraved with C scroll designs. Inner cartouche carefully engraved with Temple menorah, the “Shulchan Lechem HaPanim (the Table of the Showbread)” and elongated Torah with eytz chaim, a yad and a miniature Torah shield. 6.5” tall.
